The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. with chapters represented as follows

Minutes & Treasurer’s Report

The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read and previously distributed. The Treasurer reported a balance of $11,319.09 in the Region Treasury, and provided details of transactions since the last meeting which were approved as written and distributed.

Federation Business

The Mr. B.A.S.S. Tournament out of Munden Point on April 19^th and 20^th 2008 went very well. Jim thanked all the volunteers. B.A.S.S. will hold a BASS Club Championship, 6 members from each club can fish together. 6 clubs from each state, 36 teams total. July 15-16 official practice days. July 17-18 tournament days. $1,500.00 a team. Entry deadline is June 17, 2008. Top 8 teams qualify for National Championship with no entry fee to be held October 6-11. Tournament site has not been determined. Guaranteed 1^st place at the National Championship 6 fully rigged Skeeter Bass Boats. Contact Sid Ryan if anyone is interested. His/Her Tournament June 21, 2008 at Lake Kerr if anyone is interested in fishing the Tournament.

Region Seven Business

Jim Geiser is stepping down as Region 7 Director due to a medical concern until December 2008. Jim asked Ivan Morris to take over the Region 7 Director’s position until then. Ivan accepted the position. Jim our thoughts and prayers are with you, if there is anything we can do to help, please let us know.

Craig passed around the pictures or the work in progress of our 24’ Bass Tracker Pontoon Boat and Trailer, Brian Stump did a fantastic job with the live well release system for the pontoon boat. The release boat will be going to Inland Marine Services for Bruce Pomeroy to install the engine. If anyone can come up with any ideas to make the release boat look better get with Ivan or Craig. Ivan Morris was asked to donate 2 flags for the release boat, American Flag and a B.A.S.S. flag. Thanks to all of you for your donations.

Rick passed out the Region 7 Tournament update and checks, For Lake Gaston the winning Club was Virginia, with 53.91 pounds and a check for $100.00. For Lake Kerr the winning club was Little Creek Bass Anglers with 48.88 pounds and a check for $100.00. congratulations to both Clubs. Rick needs 12 volunteers for the Potomac River Tournament.

Have your club members check there Live Well systems. We had a lot of dead fish at the lake Kerr Tournament. We have chemicals for your Live Wells if anyone needs them. We need to protect the fish.

The Family Fishing Clinic on June 7, 2008 at Munden Point and the Chesapeake Family Fishing Rodeo on June 8, 2008 at Northwest River Park, Susan needs 25 to 30 volunteers at each event. Volunteers need to be there at 8:00 a.m. both days. Please get a list of volunteers to Susan as soon as possible.

Susan is collecting new hats or gently used hats for the Youth Fishing days. She could also use any fishing tackle you do not need. (NO HOOKS). She will have about 400 goody bags to make up.
